The first few members of the Florida Media Co-operative started coming together in the fall of 2009. In mid-November, a collaboration was announced with Tampa’s best blog Sticks of Fire, Chuck Welch’s Lakeland Local, and Metro I-4 News all agreeing to work together toward three goals:

• Document and maintain a list of best practices in an effort to help and encourage new and existing publishers of local websites.
• Share resources with other local writers to increase news coverage of all of our neighborhoods.
• Work together to promote all local conversational websites.

This website, All News is Local, was created to facilitate communications between publishers of all websites – both members and non-members alike.

The main thrust of the All News is Local blog will be to address that first item above – publishing tips, tricks, and ideas.
